Satellite Navigation

« Back to Links / Downloads

The first Australian built car to offer this advanced "eye in the sky" technology. Imagine being able to bypass traffic jams at the touch of a button, or being directed through unfamiliar streets by computer voice commands. With one of the world's most advanced Satellite Navigation Systems now available on-line or as an accessory across the Commodore and Statesman range, this futuristic world is at your fingertips.

Up to 24 navigation satellites monitor your location. This information is then passed on to your Holden SatNav, so you always know where you are just about anywhere in Australia. Everything from country roads to freeways, major highways, all capital cities, major metropolitan areas and popular tourist spots are mapped and stored digitally on an updateable CD Rom database.

Simply enter your destination before driving off, activate "Guidance" and your Holden SatNav does the rest. Then, every time you need to make a turn, you receive both spoken and visual guidance. With all these features, you can understand why the Holden SatNav system is considered to be the best on the planet.

Navigation scenarios:

Caught in traffic? Holden's system will take you around the bottleneck.

Prefer to go via back streets? Your sophisticated Holden SatNav offers you a number of choices, including the shortest or fastest route, or travel via main highways or back streets.

Does your work involve a number of daily calls? Simply log in your destinations, and your route will be plotted for you.

Out of your local neighbourhood and looking for somewhere to park? You can be directed to major locations like Railway Stations, Airports, and Car Parks around Australia.

Need to refer to an address? No problem, because up to 100 address locations can be stored for immediate retrieval. It also stores your last 10 destinations.
